This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, Cabin on 15.86 acres. The house is 836 sqft with a large deck. There is also a 2 bay carport. The PATS map info says that the house was built in 1952, but I disagree because my Mom and Dad built it and they weren't even married until 1956. They built the house to live in while they built a log house on their adjacent property, so the correct age would be 1961 or 1962. The original part of the house is 4" thick tongue & groove outer walls. There was an additional 8 feet added to the front when the house was raised.
The house is lifted because the area is a flood zone. The inside of the home has not gotten water since we lifted it in 1996. Usually the yearly high waters just cover parts of the pasture and bring in some good silt to add nutrients to the soil. The large floods are not a common occurrence.
The pasture is subirrigated and stays green even in the hottest/driest summers.
The well is about 75 feet deep and has ample water that tastes very good. It is shared with the log house across the road, but only for outside faucets and as a backup.
